Moldova's wine and sparkling wine exports to EU member states grew 31% by value in the first quarter of 2026 compared to Q1 2025, according to data from the National Bureau of Statistics of Moldova. Total EU-bound wine export revenue in Q1 2026 reached approximately €48 million, up from €37 million in Q1 2025. Romania remained the largest destination by volume, accounting for 34% of EU-bound exports. Poland, Germany, and the Czech Republic each grew as export destinations, with Germany's import volume increasing 44% year-on-year as Moldovan premium wines gain distribution in the German off-trade market. ## Purcari leads premium positioning Purcari Wineries, Moldova's only BSE-listed wine producer, reported that its EU export revenue in Q1 2026 exceeded the revenue it recorded in the full year 2024. The company attributed the growth to new distribution agreements in Germany and France and to the increased international profile of Moldovan wines following awards at Decanter World Wine Awards 2025.
