The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development published its February 2026 Regional Economic Prospects report, projecting Moldova's real GDP growth at 4.1% for the full year 2026. The projection is an upward revision from the 3.8% the EBRD had projected in its October 2025 interim outlook, and compares to 3.2% actual growth recorded in 2025. The EBRD attributes the acceleration to three factors: increased public investment linked to the EU Growth Plan disbursement schedule; IT sector expansion driven by new IT Park Moldova registrations; and recovering household consumption as real wages have increased following the BNM's rate-cutting cycle in 2024. ## EBRD Moldova exposure The EBRD committed €380 million in new financing to Moldova across 2024–2025, covering banking sector lending via MAIB and Mobiasbancă, municipal infrastructure, and private sector energy projects. Moldova is one of the EBRD's ten priority countries under its 2021–2025 strategic mandate.
